The seat and comb (headrest) are Cherry and the legs, sticks and armbow are in Ash.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The inspiration is from the Staked Armchair chapter of Chris Schwarz\u2019s the <a href=\"https:\/\/lostartpress.com\/collections\/books\/products\/the-anarchists-design-book\">Anarchist\u2019s Design Book<\/a>. The build techniques used are similar to those described in my <a href=\"http:\/\/eastmountainkustom.com\/blog\/staked-stool-post\/\">Staked Stool<\/a> post.<\/p>\n<p>While the stool had stretchers and a flat seat, this chair has no stretchers and a lightly \u201csaddled\u201d seat. I had a good time with my adze, scorp and curved scraper while carving the saddle and am fairly pleased with the result.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/eastmountainkustom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0288-2.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2732\" src=\"http:\/\/eastmountainkustom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0288-2-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"321\" height=\"428\" srcset=\"http:\/\/eastmountainkustom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0288-2-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/eastmountainkustom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0288-2-768x1025.jpg 768w, http:\/\/eastmountainkustom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0288-2.jpg 856w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 321px) 100vw, 321px\" \/><\/a>Above is the finished chair with 2 coats of a wiping varnish applied.
